G20 Energy and Climate Ministerial Meeting

The G20 Energy and Climate Ministerial meeting was held in Naples under the Italian Presidency of the G20 and was attended by a combined in-person and virtual audience of heads of international organizations and ministers of guest countries.
IEF Secretary General Joseph McMonigle delivered a speech in the third session titled "The Role of Dialogue and Data to Accelerate Sustainability and the Climate Agenda"
In his remarks to ministers, Mr McMonigle encouraged G20 Energy and Climate Ministers to focus on supporting innovative technological solutions and more research and development spending to tackle carbon emissions.
The meeting ended with the approval of an important joint communiqué, the culmination of weeks of negotiations.
