The New Geography of Energy and International Energy Cooperation
House of Commons, London, United Kingdom
By kind invitation of Dr. Phillip Lee MP, IEF Secretary General Aldo Flores addressed a meeting of The Henry Jackson Society to discuss the way in which new discoveries and extraction techniques have changed the face of the global energy market.
Dr Flores outlined the many ways in which the global energy market has changed hugely in the past decade, not least with the discovery of large shale gas reserves in the US and elsewhere transforming the perspectives of an industry in which many had forecast increasing challenges in the years ahead.
Noting that the geography of the sector is developing in ways which will bring new geopolitical challenges, Dr Flores stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration and communication between governments and other stakeholders in the energy supply chain.
